Essex Steam Train and Riverboat Day Trip
Includes Lunch on the Train!
Travel aboard the only steam train and riverboat connection in the United States – out of Essex, Connecticut. Board the Essex Steam Train at the 1892 Essex Station for a 12-mile, narrated round trip into the heart of the unspoiled Connecticut River Valley – designated by the Nature Conservancy as “one of the last great places on earth.” The train ride includes lunch on board in a restored dining car. On arrival at Deep River, you’ll board the riverboat Becky Thatcher for a cruise along the Connecticut River – exploring the coves, inlets, marshes, wildlife and rocky shoreline – and viewing historic sites, including the Gillette Castle, Goodspeed Opera House and the Haddam Swing Bridge. On your arrival back at Deep River, you’ll re-board the train for the return trip to Essex Station.
Departure from Keene Airport at 8:00 a.m.
