Join us for a trip to the historic Hudson Valley area of New York. Rich in tradition & scenery this is a well balanced tour offering serenity, beautiful architecture and landscape and a dash of history.

On Day 1, we will leave Concord/Keene and head to West Point, NY. Home to the famous military academy created in 1802 by President Thomas Jefferson. Almost every Army Commander of note graduated from this institution. We will have a guided tour of the grounds and buildings. Dinner to follow. Our hotel is the Hilton Garden Inn in Fishkill, NY.

Day 2, after a full buffet breakfast, we head out for Hyde Park, NY. This is home to the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Library, Museum, and Springwood, the Roosevelt family home. This library was the first authorized Presidential Library and is a fascinating look into the life and Administration of our 32nd President. We will also visit Val-Kill cottage which was Eleanor Roosevelts retreat from the pressures of her life. Additionally, we will visit the Vanderbilt mansion which, while the smallest of the Vanderbilt Mansions, is nevertheless a spectacular building and grounds.

Day 3 After breakfast we head out to Hudson to visit the home of Frederick Church, a famous portrait and landscape artist in 19th Century America. Olana, as the house was named, is a beautifully designed and landscaped mansion overlooking the Hudson River. Church designed the landscape as he did his paintings, providing for spectacular visions around each corner. From Olana, we head to Kingston, NY where we will board a riverboat for a cruise on the Hudson. Lighthouses, Mansions, and other notable locations on this 2-hour cruise. Dinner will be at the historic Victorian Mohonk Mountain House (www.mohonk.com). We cannot describe this wonder. I encourage you to visit the website to see what is in store for you.

Day 4 is departure day. After breakfast, we board the bus and head north to Albany where we will visit the NYS Museum. This is a fascinating museum that has a large and very interesting collection of the history of New York. Art, dinosaurs, 9/11, Architecture, and Nature exhibits will interest all. Home via Hogback follows.
