OLD FASHION CHRISTMAS
Price per person: $340 single, $275 double, $250 triple
DAY 1 – We leave Keene at 8 am Sunday morning to begin our trip back to an old-fashioned Christmas adventure. The first stop will be on Main Street in Stockbridge, MA to experience the sights and sounds of one of Norman Rockwell’s most famous paintings. His “Stockbridge at Christmas” image is recreated as nearly as possible. Old cars, food period costumes, music and shopping all await. From Stockbridge, we will head to Sturbridge Village for their “Christmas by Candlelight” festivities. Christmas in the 1850’s will be on full display and sure to please. Dinner is provided (Oliver Wight Tavern) followed by storytelling, store displays, a bonfire, tree lighting, music and festive foods are all there for us. We will head for our hotel afterwards. (Holiday Inn Express in Sturbridge Ma.)
DAY 2 – We will awake on Monday to a full breakfast and then we head to the Oakwood Farm Christmas Barn. They are opening for us and you will be treated to hot cider, a free gift and a discount coupon. This is an 1860’s barn and is filled with Christmas ornaments, nativity figures, Santa’s, carolers, wreaths and much more. From here, we head to Boston and Quincy Marketplace for shopping, food and the Boston City Hall Christmas Market. Located in City Hall Plaza (directly in back of Faneuil Hall), it consists of 85 European style booths offering a smorgasbord of items including clothes, toys, gifts, food and all things Christmas.
